Three days is enough to see the highlights of Cairo and Giza without rushing.
Day 1: Giza pyramids and Sphinx
Start early at the Giza Plateau for the Great Pyramid, the panoramic viewpoint and the Sphinx. In the afternoon visit the Grand Egyptian Museum.
Day 2: Old Cairo
Explore Coptic Cairo, Islamic Cairo and Khan el-Khalili bazaar. It is a great day for food, markets and history.
Day 3: Saqqara and Memphis, or Alexandria
Choose an early trip to Saqqara and Memphis to see where pyramid building began, or take a day trip to Alexandria on the Mediterranean.
